HB1274

HB1274 regulates water and sewer utilities in manufactured home communities in Illinois.

HB1274 amends the Public Utilities Act to mandate that water and sewer utilities in manufactured home communities provide potable water at each site. Utilities must base charges on actual usage or a ratio billing system. Utilities must install submeters at their expense if not already present. The bill also outlines procedures for deferred payment agreements, meter testing, and service discontinuation. It requires utilities to notify customers of rate increases and their right to request public forums.
