Illinois HB1248 mandates U.S.-made, U.S.-headquartered zero-emission vehicles for government use starting in 2030.

Illinois HB1248 amends the Government Zero-Emission Vehicle Act, requiring all passenger vehicles, excluding law enforcement vehicles, purchased or leased by governmental units to be manufactured in the United States by a U.S.-headquartered company starting January 1, 2030. These vehicles must be either manufactured zero-emission vehicles or converted zero-emission vehicles.
