Except in medical emergencies, consent must be voluntary and informed, with the physician providing specified information at least 24 hours before the procedure. The woman must acknowledge receipt of this information in writing. In medical emergencies, a physician may terminate a pregnancy if they have obtained a corroborative medical opinion.
