Illinois HB1213 regulates deer hunting seasons and methods, specifying firearm and bow requirements.

Illinois HB1213 amends the Wildlife Code to establish specific deer hunting seasons and methods. The firearm season is set annually by the Director between November 1 and December 31, including a period before Thanksgiving of at least 4 consecutive days and a period after Thanksgiving of at least 5 consecutive days, totaling no more than 14 days. Hunters must use shotguns, handguns, single shot centerfire rifles, or muzzleloading rifles. Full metal jacket bullets are prohibited. The bow and arrow season is also set annually by the Director, between September 1 and January 31.
