HB1201 amends the Counties Code to allow counties to establish standards for wind farms, electric-generating wind devices, and commercial wind and solar energy facilities. Counties may allow test wind towers or test solar energy systems to be sited without formal approval. Existing zoning ordinances pertaining to wind farms, commercial wind energy facilities, or commercial solar energy facilities that were in effect before certain dates may continue in effect.
