501(C)(3) LOBBYING FEE EXEMPT

Introduced·1/9/25
Introduced Text

Waives lobbyist registration fees for 501(c)(3) tax-exempt entities with annual budgets under $5 million.

The bill amends the Lobbyist Registration Act to allow the Secretary of State to waive the annual registration fee for not-for-profit entities classified as tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, provided their annual budget is less than $5 million. This waiver also applies to lobbyists exclusively representing such entities. The bill maintains the requirement for annual registration and disclosure of lobbying activities, including details about the registrant, clients, and services rendered.
