Illinois HB1126 prohibits contraband possession or delivery by Department of Juvenile Justice and Department of Corrections employees.

Illinois HB1126 amends the Unified Code of Corrections to mandate immediate discharge for Department of Juvenile Justice and Department of Corrections employees convicted of contraband offenses or found to have violated department policies regarding contraband. Employees found guilty of bringing, delivering, or possessing contraband in department facilities face termination. Additionally, these employees become ineligible for rehire by either department. The bill defines "item of contraband" and "conviction" and takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
