HB1118 amends the Educator Licensure Article of the School Code to revise the professional development requirements for renewing Professional Educator Licenses. It mandates that each licensee complete a total of 120 hours of professional development per 5-year renewal cycle, except for those with administrative endorsements who are not working in positions requiring such endorsements. Licensees working in positions that do not require educator licensure or working less than 50% of the time are exempt from professional development hours but must pay registration fees.
