HB1080

TWSHP CD-SERVICE ON SCHOOL BD

Introduced·1/9/25
Introduced Text

HB1080 allows township supervisors or trustees in Illinois townships with fewer than 2,500 inhabitants to serve on a school board.

HB1080 amends the Public Officer Prohibited Activities Act and the Township Code in Illinois. It authorizes a supervisor or trustee of a township with fewer than 2,500 inhabitants to concurrently serve as a school board member for a school district. The bill also prohibits township boards from directing distributions from the township's general fund to a school district if a supervisor or trustee is concurrently serving as a school board member for that district. The changes take effect immediately upon the bill becoming law.
