Illinois HB1060 amends the General Assembly Compensation Act by adjusting the annual office allowance for House and Senate members. Beginning July 1, 2021, each House member can approve up to $179,000 per year, and each Senate member can approve up to $214,000 per year for personal services, contractual services, commodities, printing, travel, automotive equipment operation, and telecommunications services. The allowance increases annually by the lesser of the Employment Cost Index or 5%. The bill also allows members to transfer a portion of their allowance to another member.
