Illinois HB1059 amends the Military Veterans Assistance Act to redefine "veteran.

Illinois HB1059 amends the Military Veterans Assistance Act by redefining "veteran" to include those who served on active duty in the armed forces for at least 90 days under conditions other than dishonorable, those who served on active duty and were awarded a service-connected disability or died under conditions other than dishonorable, those who served in the National Guard or as a reservist and were awarded a service-connected disability or died under conditions other than dishonorable, and those determined to be veterans by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
