Illinois HB1021 prohibits park district officers from ticketing or arresting individuals setting live traps to rescue animals.

Illinois HB1021 amends the Park District Code to ensure that park district police officers, code enforcement officers, or any official or employee with citation authority cannot ticket or arrest individuals or groups setting live traps to capture animals with the intention of rescuing those animals. This protection applies regardless of other legal provisions. The Act takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
