HB0187 amends the Adult Protective Services Act to ensure that any person suspecting abuse, abandonment, neglect, or financial exploitation of an eligible adult must report it to the appropriate agency or the Department. Mandated reporters must report within 24 hours if they suspect abuse within the previous 12 months. The bill also allows for internet reporting tools and provides immunity from liability for those reporting in good faith. Failure to report is a Class A misdemeanor.
