Idaho S1415 amends existing law to transition electrical, plumbing, and HVAC inspections to state-certified private inspectors by July 1, 2030. The Division of Occupational and Professional Licenses will implement a certification program for private inspectors between October 1, 2026, and June 30, 2030. During this transition period, inspections can be conducted by either state inspectors or certified private inspectors. After July 1, 2030, only certified private inspectors will conduct inspections unless local jurisdictions choose to perform them.
