Introduced Text

Idaho S1389 limits liability for property owners who allow their property to be used as a polling place.

Idaho S1389 amends existing law to limit the liability of property owners who permit their property to be used as a polling place. The bill specifies that property owners are not liable for injuries caused by acts or omissions of individuals entering the property for polling purposes. Additionally, the use of property as a polling place does not extend any assurance of safety, confer legal status to individuals entering the property, or impose liability on the property owner. The bill also revises provisions regarding property tax exemptions for properties used as polling places.
