Idaho S1376 revises the process for filing declarations of candidacy for political subdivisions.

Idaho S1376 amends the Idaho Code to update the process for filing declarations of candidacy. It specifies that candidates must be nominated by petitions bearing the nominee's name, the office, the term, and signatures from at least five electors. The county clerk must provide a detailed map of subdistricts by January each election year. Petitions must be filed between the twelfth Monday and tenth Friday before the election. The county clerk must notify the political subdivision clerk of candidate contact information within 24 hours. All petition information must be made public upon request.
