Idaho S1369 establishes new venue rules for civil actions, allowing flexibility in choosing the county for trial.
Idaho S1369 amends the Idaho Code to establish new provisions for the venue of civil actions. It allows plaintiffs to bring actions in the county where the cause of action arises or where any defendant resides. If none of the defendants reside in Idaho, the plaintiff can designate any county. Actions against life or fire insurance companies can be filed in the county where the death occurred or the loss was sustained. Actions against corporations organized under Idaho law can be filed in the county where the corporation has its principal place of business or where the cause of action arose.
