Idaho S1357 establishes scholarship limitations for student athletes at public institutions of higher education.

Idaho S1357 amends Idaho Code to establish provisions regarding certain limitations on scholarships for student athletes at public institutions of higher education. The bill mandates a preference for Idaho residents in scholarship awards and limits the number of scholarships to no more than 10% of total sports roster positions. It also restricts the percentage of non-U.S. resident student athletes receiving scholarships to no more than 50% of the team. Scholarships awarded before July 1, 2026, to non-U.S. resident student athletes remain valid for up to four consecutive academic years.
