Idaho S1303 amends existing law to rename the "renewable energy resources fund" and revises the definition of "renewable energy resources" to include geothermal, wind, and solar energy, among others. The bill also specifies that 10% of moneys from renewable energy resources sales, royalties, bonuses, or rentals will be remitted to the general fund of the counties where the resources were extracted. The remaining 90% will be used for public road construction and maintenance or public school support. The act declares an emergency and will take effect on July 1, 2026.
