Idaho S1281 revises the total amount of tax credits available for the Idaho Parental Choice Tax Credit in 2026 and 2027.

Idaho S1281 amends existing law to revise the total amount of tax credits available for the Idaho Parental Choice Tax Credit. For tax year 2026, the total amount of tax credits is set at $48,000,000, and for tax year 2027, it is set at $47,500,000. The bill also increases the refundable tax credit limit to $7,500 for each eligible student up to 21 years of age who is also considered a child with disabilities requiring ancillary personnel. The Idaho parental choice tax credit is designed to help parents pay for qualified expenses for eligible students attending nonpublic schools.
