S.1224

Adds to existing law to establish provisions regarding slow moving vehicles.

Complete·3/25/26

Idaho S1224 amends traffic laws to establish new provisions for slow moving vehicles.

Idaho S1224 amends existing traffic laws to establish new provisions for slow moving vehicles. It mandates that slow moving vehicles, including farm equipment, must not exceed the posted maximum speed limit and must be operated by a licensed driver. Vehicles traveling slower than normal traffic on a two-lane highway must turn off the roadway at the nearest turnout or safe location to allow following vehicles to pass. The Idaho traffic safety commission will recommend minimum standards for slow moving vehicle emblems. Emergency and snow removal vehicles are exempt from these provisions.
