Idaho bill prohibits foreign persons from purchasing single-family homes.

Idaho H0904 amends state law to prohibit foreign persons from purchasing or acquiring single-family homes. Effective July 1, 2026, foreign persons must divest any such properties within 180 days of acquisition. The bill defines "foreign person" as non-U.S. citizens or legal residents, foreign corporations, and other entities controlled by foreign governments or adversaries. Exemptions include foreign governments, state-controlled enterprises, and foreign pension funds.
