Idaho H0894 amends open public meeting laws to allow recording of such meetings.

Idaho H0894 amends Section 74-203 of the Idaho Code to revise requirements for open public meetings. It allows the recording of these meetings, defined as capturing audio, video, or photographs by electronic, digital, or other means. The act prohibits governing bodies from prohibiting or unreasonably restricting recording. It also declares an emergency, stating that legal rights, duties, or privileges of a party are not required to take place in a meeting open to the public. Exceptions include executive sessions and meetings in certain facilities. The act takes effect on July 1, 2026.
