Idaho H0856 amends existing law to prohibit certain acts regarding graves and provides exemptions.

Idaho H0856 amends existing law to prohibit the willful removal, mutilation, defacement, injury, or destruction of cairns or graves. It mandates that human remains disturbed inadvertently must be reinterred, with the state historical society covering at least part of the expense. The bill also prohibits the possession, sale, purchase, lease, public display, or sale of human remains or artifacts taken from graves, except under specific conditions.
