Idaho H0801 regulates development on religious land, allowing multifamily and mixed-use projects.

Idaho H0801 amends local land use planning laws to regulate development on religious land. It allows cities to approve multifamily or mixed-use developments on religious land if they comply with applicable regulations. The bill prohibits cities from restricting building height, setbacks, parking, or density. It also allows supportive housing and group homes. The law does not apply to religious land near heavy industrial uses, airports, or military bases. The provisions take effect on July 1, 2026.
