H0791

Idaho bill H0791 amends law to suspend driver's licenses for those 30 days or more delinquent in paying traffic infraction penalties.

Idaho bill H0791 amends existing law to suspend driver's licenses for individuals who are 30 days or more delinquent in paying penalties for moving traffic infractions. The suspension takes effect starting January 1, 2027, and requires courts to notify the Idaho Transportation Department of delinquent individuals starting July 1, 2026. The department must then notify these individuals before enforcement begins. Licenses remain suspended until the penalty is paid. The bill also allows for temporary restricted permits for essential travel to employment.
