H0717

Amends existing law to provide for registration fees.

Chamber Passed·3/10/26

Idaho H0717 amends vehicle registration fees and establishes late fees for non-renewal.

Idaho H0717 amends existing law to establish registration fees for motor vehicles, trailers, and semitrailers. Owners can pay a fee for one or two years, with rates set at $10 for one year and $20 for two years. Fees collected are deposited into the park and recreation fund. The bill also establishes a late fee of $75 for failure to renew vehicle registration within 30 days, except for vehicles not in use. Special plates have additional fees, and commercial vehicles over 26,000 pounds gross weight are subject to different registration rules. The changes take effect July 1, 2026.
