Idaho H0704 amends existing law to establish requirements for employers to verify the lawful status of workers. Effective July 1, 2026, all businesses and employers in Idaho must enroll in the federal E-Verify program and verify the employment eligibility of new hires. Employers must verify the legal status and authorization to work of employees within three days of employment. The bill prohibits knowingly employing unauthorized workers and outlines penalties for violations, including business license suspension.
