Introduced Text

Idaho H0701 adds limitations on rental application fees, restricting charges to two households and requiring disclosure of screening processes.

Idaho H0701 amends existing law to impose limitations on rental application fees. Property owners or managers can only charge fees to two rental applicant households at any given time. Fees can only be charged if the property owner or manager has a unit available, discloses the screening process, and completes the screening. Fees must relate to the costs of screening and processing the application. The act declares an emergency and will be effective July 1, 2026.
