Idaho H0688 repeals and adds to existing law to establish prohibited acts and penalties regarding air bags and air bag systems.

Idaho H0688 repeals existing law and adds new provisions to establish prohibited acts and penalties regarding air bags and air bag systems. It prohibits the manufacture, import, distribution, sale, lease, or installation of counterfeit air bags or nonfunctional air bags. It also prohibits the installation of any object that causes a vehicle's diagnostic system to fail to warn the operator of a nonfunctional or counterfeit air bag. Violations are misdemeanors. The act takes effect on July 1, 2026.
