Idaho H0680 amends existing law to mandate that all investigative or risk assessment interviews of alleged child abuse victims must be documented by audio or video taping. This applies to safety assessments, investigative interviews, and risk assessment interviews conducted by law enforcement, the Department of Health and Welfare, or child advocacy centers. The absence of such recordings will not affect the admissibility of evidence in court. The act declares an emergency and will take effect on July 1, 2026.
