Introduced Text

Idaho H0648 establishes equal coverage for orally administered anticancer medications under health benefit plans.

Idaho H0648 amends Idaho Code to ensure that health benefit plans covering FDA-approved anticancer medications provide equal coverage for orally administered medications as for injected or intravenously administered medications. This includes equal cost sharing for copayments, coinsurance, and deductibles. The changes apply to health benefit plans issued or renewed on or after January 1, 2027. The act also allows plans to maintain formularies, require prior authorization, and impose other utilization controls.
