Idaho H0612 exempts portable solar generators from public utility regulations.

Idaho H0612 amends existing law to exempt portable solar generation devices from public utility regulations. This bill defines "portable solar generation device" and excludes it from the definition of "public utility." It also exempts these devices from interconnection and net metering requirements, and prohibits electric corporations from requiring approval, fees, or additional equipment for their use. The changes take effect on July 1, 2026.
