H0592

Idaho H0592 requires hospitals to collect patient immigration status data and report it quarterly to the state health department.

Idaho H0592 amends existing law to establish provisions regarding patient immigration status data collection. Hospitals accepting Medicaid must include a provision on patient admission forms for patients to indicate their immigration status. The Idaho Department of Health and Welfare will collect this data and submit an annual report to state officials. The report will detail hospital admissions and emergency visits by immigration status, costs of uncompensated care, and other related information.
