Prospective jurors in Idaho can volunteer as poll workers instead of serving on a jury under certain conditions.
This bill amends Idaho law to allow prospective jurors to volunteer as poll workers in lieu of serving on a jury if they meet certain criteria. Specifically, the court or jury commissioner can offer this opportunity to prospective jurors who request to be excused from jury service or have their service postponed. The volunteer election service must be completed in a manner acceptable to the county clerk. If a prospective juror accepts the election service and completes it, they will be excused from jury service for the next two years.
