H0546

Idaho H0546 establishes the Restroom Access Act, allowing customers with certain medical conditions to use employee restrooms in retail.

Idaho H0546, the Restroom Access Act, adds a new chapter to Idaho Code, allowing customers with conditions like Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis to use employee restrooms in retail establishments under specific conditions. This includes having a written doctor's note or proof from a nonprofit organization. The act does not require physical changes to the employee restroom facilities. Retail establishments are not liable for injuries or deaths if they allow access under these conditions. Violators face misdemeanor charges and fines up to $50. The act takes effect July 1, 2026.
