Introduced Text

Idaho H0529 establishes provisions for out-of-pocket payments for health care services.

Idaho H0529 amends existing law to establish provisions regarding certain out-of-pocket payments for health care services. It allows covered persons to pay out of pocket for health care services instead of submitting a claim to insurance, provided the service is covered by their health benefit plan. The bill specifies that the amount paid out of pocket counts toward the in-network or out-of-network deductible and annual maximum out-of-pocket expense. It also mandates that health carriers count the full amount paid out of pocket if certain conditions are met.
