Introduced Text

Idaho H0528 establishes provisions for directed blood product transfusion, allowing patients to provide their own blood products for transfusions.

Idaho H0528 amends Idaho Code to establish provisions regarding directed blood product transfusion. It allows patients to provide their own blood products for transfusions, except in cases where it would be detrimental to the donor or patient, insufficient time exists for coordination, or the procedure is an emergency. Health care providers and facilities are immune from liability for using the blood product unless gross negligence contributed to the injury. The act declares an emergency and will be in full force and effect from July 1, 2026.
