Idaho H0522 amends existing law to define terms and establish provisions regarding unmanned aircraft systems near Department of Correction facilities. The bill prohibits the use of unmanned aircraft systems within restricted airspace, defined as the airspace from the surface to 400 feet above ground level within the perimeter of a correctional facility. The Department of Correction or law enforcement officers may take mitigation measures against a threat posed by an unmanned aircraft system operating in a nefarious manner within restricted airspace.
