Idaho H0509 amends existing law to ensure that certain vehicles are not subject to more than one inspection within a 72-hour period. The bill specifies that vehicles weighing 18,000 pounds or more can be stopped by authorized employees if there is probable cause to believe the vehicle bypassed an inspection station. Vehicles weighing 10,000 pounds or more transporting hazardous materials must stop at all ports of entry. The bill declares an emergency and sets an effective date of July 1, 2026.
