Idaho H0508 amends existing law to revise provisions regarding bicycle and pedestrian projects. It specifies that highway improvements to existing or new bicycle and pedestrian facilities may only be included in a project for the primary benefit of motor vehicles if they provide a collateral or secondary benefit, receive federal funds or grants, or are necessary to improve safety near schools, parks, or other designated areas. The bill also amends definitions related to highways, public rights-of-way, and public transportation services. The changes take effect on July 1, 2026.
