The bill establishes a Mattress Stewardship Program Design Working Group to study, evaluate, and recommend a statewide mattress stewardship program. The group includes representatives from the state government, counties, mattress manufacturers, retailers, and other stakeholders. The working group will consider policy goals, extended producer responsibility frameworks, collection systems, governance structures, fee structures, and consumer education. The group will submit a report to the Legislature before the 2027 session.
