This bill urges the Public Utilities Commission to hold at least two public community meetings to discuss and receive input from the community on potential major energy projects before approving them. A "major energy project" is defined as projects with a total capital cost of $10,000,000 or greater, or that require Public Utilities Commission approval, including utility-scale solar photovoltaic systems, wind energy generating facilities, battery storage systems, grid modernization and transmission systems, electric vehicle charging infrastructure, geothermal energy facilities, firm power.
