SB845 allows registration of former military vehicles in Hawaii, defining their permissible uses and restrictions.
SB845 amends Hawaii's motor vehicle registration laws to include former military vehicles, such as the Pinzgauer, Kaiser Jeep M715, Humvee, and DUKW, if they are at least 25 years old. Owners of these vehicles can register them with the county director of finance. These vehicles can be used for personal property transport related to the owner's business and for transporting passengers without charge directly to and from the owner's business. However, they cannot be used for hire or carry more than 500 pounds, excluding certain attachments and passengers.
