SB580 amends the School Facilities Authority's duties to include development, planning, and construction of workforce housing for educators and other education workers, as well as prekindergarten facilities. The authority is also authorized to partner with public and private development agencies for prekindergarten facilities. Additionally, the authority can use the Department of Education for recruitment and hiring of exempt employees, architects, engineers, and other technical positions.
