This bill amends Hawaii Revised Statutes to allow the administration of public assistance to households during a state of emergency declared by the governor. Eligible individuals must be unable to meet income and financial resources criteria for federal programs and unable to engage in substantial gainful activity. Assistance is limited to the monthly federal supplemental security income benefit payment. Recipients must be bona fide residents and provide social security account numbers. Failure to comply with requirements can disqualify the entire assistance unit from receiving financial aid.
