Restitution for children of victims of driving under the influence in Hawaii.

This bill amends Hawaii law to require courts to order restitution for children of victims of driving under the influence. The court must consider the child's financial needs, the surviving parent's resources, and other relevant factors in determining the amount. Restitution may include support until the child turns eighteen or graduates from high school. If the defendant is incarcerated, payments must begin within a year of release. The court may not consider the defendant's financial ability in setting the amount but may consider it for payment terms.
