Hawaii SB2907 establishes the Office of Marine Affairs within the Hawaii Technology Development Corporation to promote sustainable marine economic growth and innovation. The office will develop a statewide marine affairs strategy and ocean technology innovation development strategy. It will also coordinate with federal and international entities to investigate and utilize marine resources. The bill repeals certain duties of the Department of Business, Economic Development, and Tourism related to marine affairs and transfers them to the new office.
