Exempts certain agricultural buildings and structures from building permit requirements in Hawaii.
This bill amends Hawaii law to exempt certain agricultural buildings and structures from building permit requirements. Exempt structures include nonresidential manufactured pre-engineered commercial buildings, aquacultural or aquaponics structures, livestock watering tanks, and more. Owners or occupiers must notify the appropriate county agency of the size, type, and location of the proposed building, structure, or development. The county agency must certify compliance within 30 days of receiving the notice. Failure to provide written notice may void the building permit or code exemption.
