SB2466 amends Section 11-7.5 of the Hawaii Revised Statutes to revise the duties of the elections commission. The commission is now tasked with employing a full-time chief election officer, who must pass the standard state probationary period and can only be terminated for cause. The commission is also required to conduct a performance evaluation of the chief election officer within two months after a general election is certified and hold a public hearing on the officer's performance. The act takes effect upon approval.
